Shelby Meckstroth Presents Paper on Hydrocotyle Research at ASB Mtg
Shelby Meckstroth presented our paper: "The amelioration of grazing and burial through physiological integration by a clonal dune plant" at the 79th Annual Meeting of the Association of Southeastern Biologists held in Myrtle Beach, SC (Mar 28-31). The paper was part of a symposium on coastal ecosystems called "Ecology in a High Speed Landscape" organized by Julie Zinnert (Virginia Commonwealth Univ.) and Charles Kwit (Univ. of TN Knoxville). As part of the meeting, Shelby and I got to tour the University of South Carolina’s Baruch Marine Field Laboratory (BMFL) and explore the salt marsh creeks and barrier island beaches of the North Inlet estuary.
