This fall, the Sewanee Herbarium launched its Undergraduate Fellows program funded by an endowment established in memory of Ashley Block C’13. The first two fellowships were awarded to Lillian Fulgham C’21 and Angus Pritchard C’22. Preliminary data from our work documenting spatial genetic structure in hill cane populations on the Domain suggest that individual clones can span more than a kilometer in length and be over 500 years old!
