New Plant Species for the Domain

Block Fellow, Rob Phillips discovered Baptisia alba (white indigo) along Breakfield Road back in the fall when he was conducting a plant survey as part of my Plant Systematics course. We visited the site this spring with State Botanist Todd Crabtree and observed the plant in bloom. Rob will be working with me next year to publish an addendum to the Domain Flora. The original 2016 publication listed 1118 taxa of vascular plants. We have since found almost 20 additional species including Rob's Baptisia discovery.
